Wabba is the name of our company. And since we work with beans by the name of Fava, which is not that known, we performed a low-key baptizm and has since referred to our babies as Wabba Beans rather than Fava Beans.

"But what is a Fava Bean", you ask?
The Fava Bean is the world's most nutritious-packed legume. Yes, really! It is also the most sustainable legume to cultivate – and requires seven times less water to grow than a peanut.

In ancient times, many, many years ago, the Fava Bean was actually a staple in the diets of Roman and Greek warriors. It is part of the pea and bean family, but provides a lower calorie and fat content than its family members and is loaded with vitamins, minerals, fibre, and protein.

In other words – the best of both worlds:
Our beans are HIGH on everything you want to be high and LOW on everything you want to be low. The best part about the Wabba Bean, however, is that it helps people satisfy sweet, salt, or spicy cravings whenever and wherever – without feeling guilt.

"Too good to be true? Nah. Nature, brah!"

Are you (as us) in love with everything sweet, salt, and spicy, but tired of the guilt-trips that often arrive in the aftermaths of eating a snack? We thought so ...

Our Founding Father's goal was to erase that feeling. He wanted to create a product he could slaughter whenever a sweet, salt, or spicy need kicked in (which was quite often) – without feeling guilt as a consequence. And so the man has done!

Healthy and Tasty:
The Wabba Bean Snacks are nutrient-dense, tasty as ****, and based on a sacred Norwegian recipe. And, even better: They are LOW on calories and fats and LOADED with vitamins, minerals, fibre, and protein!

Vegan and without allergens:
But we're not stopping there ... The Wabba Bean Snack is vegan and free of gluten, lactose, nuts and soy – and made without use of genetically modified ingredients.

All of the the above puts to show that Wabba Bean snacks are for you to enjoy whenever and wherever, without the guilt of an original – high calorie – snack. This means that you can slaugther our amazingly tasty Wabba Beans today or tomorrow, or go ALL IN and do it every day of the week - just like we do!

(You can even eat two packages in one and the same go ...).

The Farm, Field, and Laboratory:
In the Jiangsu province, some 50 miles west of Shanghai, China, you'll find the Wabba Farm, Field, and Laboratory. In this domain, the Wabba Beans are cultivated, processed, spiced, packed, and shipped.

Aside from treating all beans as its babies, the Farm, Field, and Laboratory have tailormade equipment and procedures that ensures low-calorie levels on all our snacks while maintaining the highest possible levels of vitamins, minerals, fibres, and proteins.

The production process:
Our high-quality Wabba beans are first washed, soaked, and dried, then lightly roasted in sunflower oil and – in the end – given a sprinkle of various uniquely flavoured seasonings, that we ourselves have designed.

One of the best parts about our production, however, is that it happens in a sustainable environment that make our products suit vegans and vegetarians just as well as the everyday citizen. The snack is even free of lactose, gluten, nuts, and soy!

Wabba’s products are LOW on carbs and fats and LOADED with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and protein. Still ... the products are natural and based upon earths own magic! How many products in this world actually provide such offerings without having been tangled with?

Wabba’s mission in this world is to:
"Satisfy people's sweet, salt, or spicy cravings – without feeling guilt".

By launching foods in various product categories in new, joyful, and different ways, we wish to stir up the established ways of doing – and enjoying – things, and encourage awareness amongst consumers about the content and nutritional levels of what they put into their systems.
Wabba’s products shall, however, NEVER sacrifice taste for nutritional values and looks, and hopes to show consumers that there are conscious ways of enjoying treats, whenever and wherever – every day of the week.

YES!

Once a staple in the diets of Roman and Greek warriors, the Fava Bean (which is the bean our Wabba snacks are based upon) is a nutrient-dense snack with a slightly sweet and earthy flavor we know you’ll enjoy.

The Fava Bean is part of the pea and bean family, but provides a lower calorie and fat content than its family members and is loaded with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and protein. "How much?", you ask? Well, see for yourself here!

In other words: Our beans are LOW on everything you want to be low and HIGH on everything you want to be high.

*Important disclaimer: The fact that Roman and Greek warriors ate Fava Beans, does not translate into you looking like Gerard Butler in the movie 300 after eating our beans. It does however puts to show that the ancient warriors of our world used to fuel up their chiseled muscles on these beans. (We do however doubt that the Roman and Greek warriors seasoned the beans as well as us … )

Here are ten impressive health benefits of Fava Beans from healthline.com.

No, but the products are packed in a factory that also handles peanuts. In other words: They may contain traces of nuts.

All Wabba Bean Snacks are vegan, except for the Cheddar Cheese flavours as it currently uses real cheese.

At the Wabba laboratory, we are currently working hard to make sure that even the Cheddar Cheese will be vegan in not too long – making all our babies vegan.

No.

There are some humans with genetic predispositions against fava beans, which is coined as "favism". The term "favism" is used to indicate a severe reaction occuring on ingestion of foodstuffs consisting of or containing the beans of the leguminous plant Vicia Faba. Sufferers of "favism" must avoid our beans as they contain the alkaloid glycoside vicine, which may initiate a hemolytic crisis.

Read more about "favism" here.

You may have seen the phrase “net carbs” on a lot of labels lately. In fact, you probably know that we list net carbs on all of our products. "But why does that little word, 'net', make SUCH a difference", you ask? The answer is fibre.

Simply put, a fibre is any carbohydrate that your body cannot directly digest (and thus, create energy from). The word “directly” is key here, because some fibres do ultimately convert to calories.

There are two classes of fibre:

  1. Soluble fibre – which dissolves in water, and
  2. Insoluble fibre – which does not dissolve in water.

So ... If you only learn one thing from this text, remember this: Soluble fiber has calories. Insoluble fiber does not.

Now eat that Wabba pack of yours!

Not all carbs are created in the same way:

Fiber and (most) natural sweeteners don’t affect your blood sugar, so they’re stripped out of the calculation to get what is called “Net Carbs,” which you can think of as the active carbs that affect your body (both in terms of sugar spikes and calories.

In our case, net carbs = total carbs - dietary fiber.

This depends on which country you live in and the freight from our warehouse to your home where you live. If you live in the bushes, things will take time ...

If you don't live in the bushes, however, the following applies:

  • Norway: To "normal" locations in Norway, the shipping moves fast! Usually 1-3 days.
  • Nordics: For neighboring countries of Norway, the freight normally takes 1-4 days.
  • Europe: For other parts of Europe, a week or so is an expected waiting time.
